The Science Behind Flow State and Mindfulness at Work
The flow state, often referred to as “being in the zone,” is a psychological state of optimal experience where a person is fully immersed in an activity, feeling focused, energized, and completely absorbed in what they’re doing. This state has been shown to profoundly impact both high performance and a sense of calmness.
Mindfulness at work refers to the practice of applying mindfulness techniques and principles to the professional environment. It involves being fully present and attentive to the tasks, interactions, and experiences that unfold during the workday. Mindfulness at work is about cultivating a focused and non-judgmental awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and surroundings, even in the midst of a busy and demanding work setting. This practice can have numerous benefits for both employees and organizations.
